Objectives: To propose the application of a motivational program to prepare the athletes prior to a competition.
Methods: A qualitative study is carried out with a theoretical approach.
Results: As main results observed throughout the study, the strategies exposed by various expert authors in the field of Sports Psychology stand out, among which the reinforcement of psychological abilities stands out so that the athlete can strengthen himself in the game without paying attention to the pressures generated in the environment.
Conclusions: Thus, as the main conclusion, ontological coaching is established as a psychological strategy for the preparation of the athlete before the competition processes, and on which a pre-competition motivational program must be established.
